I have been looking for a coffee smoothie to replace my morning latte as the weather gets warmer and I think I have found it, thanks to SoulOfNewYork.

The list of ingredients will tell you straight away how clean it is as it is sugar free, dairy free and vegan. What else would you want? Flavour? It’s all there: walnuts, pecans, coffee, vanilla, maple syrup and heavenly cocoa! I tell you this is a secret potion that will brighten up your mornings. The only missing ingredients from the original recipe is maca powder, which I couldn’t find, and therefore substituted with more cocoa & coffee. But if you happen to have it, please feel free to add some.

SoulofNewYork told me: “Nuts are better digested when you soak them and of course they become softer to blend also. Soaking increases the amount of vitamins and minerals you get from eating them. It also reduces tannins, makes proteins more readily available to absorption… To name but a few advantages of soaking.” When I asked her how long to soak the nuts for, she added: It’s researched that 7 hours soaking in warm water will neutralize a large portion of phytic acid! Phytic acid is the thing that prevents the good minerals from digesting / absorbing so we wanna remove it.”

Vegan nutty mocha smoothie

Ingredients

  • 25g walnuts
  • 25g pecans
  • 250ml warm water
  • 1½ tbsp raw cocao powder
  • 2 tbsp instant coffee
  • ½ tsp vanilla paste
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 4 ice cubes

Method

  1. Soak the walnuts and pecans in the water overnight.
  2. In the morning, add all the ingredients to a blender (including the soaking water) and mix well until smooth and creamy.

Je cherchais une recette de smoothie au café pour remplacer mon latté du matin pour les beaux jours, et je l’ai trouvée grâce à SoulOfNewYork.

La liste des ingrédients montre comme ce smoothie est sain, il est sans lactose, sans sucre et vegan (végétalien), que demander de plus ? De la saveur et du goût ? Il en est bourré : des noix, des noix de pécan, du café, du sirop d’érable, de la vanille et du cacao gourmand. Je vous le dis, ceci est une potion magique qui vous réveillera avec plaisir le matin !

Smoothie mocha aux noix vegan

Ingrédients

  • 25g de noix
  • 25g de noix de pécan
  • 250ml d’eau tiède
  • 1½ càs de cacao non sucré
  • 2 càs de café instantané
  • ½ càc d’extrait de vanille
  • 1 càs de sirop d’érable
  • 4 glaçons

Méthode

  1. La veille, mettre à tremper les deux types de noix dans l’eau tiède.
  2. Le lendemain matin, mettre tous les ingrédients dans un blender (l’eau de macération incluse) et mixer pour obtenir une consistance oncuteuse.
